Anyone with dandruff knows how uncomfortable it is to look in the mirror and see those pesky little flakes on your shoulders. You try to brush them off and scratch out the rest so they don’t appear anymore. If you’ve tried everything from Head & Shoulders 2-in-1 to Selsun Blue, but those flakes just keep coming back, here are four different remedies you can easily make in your kitchen – in the comfort of your own home.
1. Lemon
This is the wonder fruit. It goes well with pancakes, delivers you from the clutches of tequila and also helps get rid of dandruff! After a wash, apply the juice of half a lemon on your hair and scalp, leave for five minutes, and rinse.
2. Baking soda
This is another 2-in-1; it’s great for muffins, and also your locks! Baking soda helps fight the chemicals we put in our hair that may contribute to developing dandruff. Make a thick paste of a spoonful of baking powder and a little water and rub it on your scalp. Leave it on for three minutes and then rinse off.
3. Vinegar
Vinegar is your ticket to dandruff-free hair. Add about five ml. of vinegar to half a bucket of warm water, and use it to rinse your hair after a shampoo. Do this twice a week to get the best results.
4. Aspirin (!)
As well as for the headache you get trying to get rid of those annoying white flakes, aspirin is the new anti-dandruff remedy. Crush an aspirin and add it to your shampoo before you wash your hair. If you stick to this ritual three times a week, you’ll have happy hair and a happy life.
