What keeps me motivated?
My faith and my family.
How do you balance motherhood and entrepreneurship?
It’s a struggle each and every day but I’ve discovered it’s about setting boundaries and learning how to say no. Children grow up so fast! As a working mom, I don’t want to miss the important things.
What advice would you give to fellow mompreneurs?
Forgive yourself. If your child eats Chipotle three times in one week it’s ok. Your child just wants quality time with you.

What keeps you motivated?
I would say my faith fuels me to not give up and share the message to honor your temple. I am creating a community of women who are glorifying God by honoring their temple through sharing my own weight loss of over 80 pounds and helping women transform their body from the inside out.
How do you balance being a mother and an entrepreneur?
Being a mom and an entrepreneur is challenging. You have to be all things to all people. That is why you MUST take care of yourself. Also, you have to have office hours and stand by them by making them work for you and your family. It’s okay to be unavailable to clients.
What advice do you have for fellow mompreneurs?
Two quotes that I NEED to use often to remind me on the hard or discouraging days:
My need for instant gratification leads me to this quote:
We all will get our chance in our time.

What keeps you motivated?
I keep motivated by a combination of doing what I love and creating specific revenue goals that will support my family. I look at my goals every day to make sure I’m staying on track. I also meditate daily and that helps to keep me focused.
How do you balance being a mother and an entrepreneur?
To be honest, I’m still figuring it out! As with anything in life, it comes down to being organized and flexible. My son went into daycare in January in the middle of flu season and seemed to be sick almost every other week. I was able to keep things moving by asking for help, planning my schedule around his, and letting my clients know that my responses would be delayed. Everything else had to be delegated to my team or it had to wait.
What advice do you have for fellow mompreneurs?
Don’t try to be supermom! Ask for help from your support system for what you need. Being stressed out with high blood pressure and not taking care of yourself will not help anyone ultimately, but least of all your children!

What keeps you motivated?
My motivation is to be a positive role model for my daughter and to see my invention become a best selling child care product worldwide.
How do you balance being a mother and an entrepreneur?
I devote my day to homeschooling my daughter, promoting my invention, and keeping my household going. The mornings and afternoons are devoted to school and work. The evenings are family time.
What advice do you have for fellow mompreneurs?
Mompreneurs should identify and stick with their “personal brand.” They need to know their target audience and market their business and/or product in a focused manner. Successful business owners have to know who their competition is and be able to differentiate themselves from competitors in a positive way. Having a concise “elevator pitch” that can be given during brief encounters is also key.

What keeps you motivated?
My children are my biggest motivators. My family immigrated to the United States in 1989 so that my siblings and I could have a better life. I went to school, graduated and opened my practice. I want my children to be able to have less of a struggle than I had.
How do you balance being a mother and an entrepreneur?
My husband supports all of my endeavors and that has really helped a lot. There are days that I don’t have a balance but those days are fewer now. It has gotten better in the last three years. I do make sure to spend as much quality time with my kids as possible, especially on the weekends. I also make sure that my kids and I lay eyes on each other every day. I’ve been really good about creating a schedule and syncing my calendar with my husbands so that I’m not missing major activities and events in their lives.
What advice do you have for fellow mompreneurs?
Don’t give up and don’t feel like you are not a good mom because you are not spending all of your time with your kids. The hard work you are putting in now is temporary. It will get easier as time goes by. Find a support system. Someone who will encourage you when you are down because building a business and having a family may take longer for you than it does for others. Just keep at it!

What keeps you motivated?
I want to be an example of resilience, fortitude, and strength.
How do you balance being a mother and an entrepreneur?
It’s really not that difficult. One of the things that attract me to entrepreneurship is the freedom I have over my own time. It allowed me to be there for my children when they needed me and when I needed them.
What advice do you have for fellow mompreneurs?
Forgive yourself for the times when you can’t be there. Don’t stay angry at yourself for too long when you are unavailable for your children. Finally, be honest with your kids. There are age-appropriate ways to explain entrepreneurship and how it’s different than mommy’s who work for someone else. They will understand and they’ll learn how to forgive you for all the concerts and games you may have to miss.

What keeps you motivated?
Building the life I want to live; a life I don’t need a vacation from.
How do you balance being a mother and an entrepreneur?
It’s definitely tough! I work on my teething accessories when the kids are in bed and during nap time. I take some time for my self and my husband.
What advice do you have for fellow mompreneurs?
Always remember to take a moment for yourself.

What keeps you motivated?
My family. God has blessed me to create a business that will take care of them not only now, but in the future as well.
How do you balance being a mother and an entrepreneur?
Time management. I have a newborn which I’m nursing so I am literally feeding him every two hours, but you better believe that in between feedings I’m holding conference calls, planning events, reaching out to top-tier press, etc. Since I’ve become a mompreneur I’ve literally become the multitasking superwoman.
What advice do you have for fellow mompreneurs?
It’s hard but it’s so worth it.

What keeps you motivated?
My will to succeed and create an amazing life for my family and leave something worthy behind.
How do you balance being a mother and an entrepreneur?
Balance is a funny word. It’s really all about priorities at different times in your life. Kids always come first. My kids are young enough that they probably won’t remember, but I have definitely missed some things. That’s when being with their dad comes in handy.
What advice do you have for fellow mompreneurs?
You can do it and you’re not alone. Moms have this innate ability to multi-task and find energy where there is none. Remember to always make your kids feel special and that one day, they’ll be grown up, so the grind is not forever. There is time for everything and when you’re really tired or unmotivated, instead of cooking that dinner and order out.

What keeps you motivated?
God, my grandchildren and being able to help others by educating and giving back to my community.
How do you balance being a mother and an entrepreneur?
I incorporate prayer, prioritizing, organizing and having a good team.
What advice do you have for fellow mompreneurs?
To always put GOD first. Educate yourself on your business. Get a team that will help you and motivates you on your goals. Do not get so overwhelmed in your business that your children suffer. Make time for their goals and family even if you have to schedule it in your calendar. Don’t forget to support other businesses!
